Indian delegation gets warm welcome in Pak
Islamabad, Aug 10: The largest ever delegation to visit Pakistan after Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee extended a hand of friendship in April is to begin its unofficial peace mission today.
Islamabad, Aug 10: The largest ever delegation to visit Pakistan after Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee extended a hand of friendship in April is to begin its unofficial peace mission today.
The group comprising MPs and journalists was warmly received by Pakistani officials, lawmakers and senior journalists as they entered Pakistan yesterday. However, it was Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Laloo Prasad Yadav who got a hero's welcome and was thronged by admirers in Pakistan.
The presence of Laloo seems to have generated much public curiosity and excitement about the goodwill tour. During their stay, the delegation is expected to meet President Pervez Musharraf and an array of high-profile politicians and social leaders to discuss wide-ranging bilateral issues. Bureau Report
