New Delhi, Aug 14: Congress today said efforts were on to pressurise BJP and Shiv Sena members of PAC to "dissociate" themselves from the report on defence purchases saying it was "unprecedented" and gross violation of all the norms of Parliamentary democracy. "I would like to condemn the pressure on NDA members in the PAC to write letters to dissociate themselves from the PAC report....It is a gross violation of all the norms of Parliamentary democracy", party spokesman S Jaipal Reddy told reporters. Terming the move as "unprecedented" in the annals of Indian Parliamentary history, he said committees of Parliaments may not be able to function if such pressure tactics were adopted.

He said except two PAC members belonging NDA, others did not contest the report. "Members of the BJP and Shiv Sena are being pressurised to dissociate themselves from the report", he said. Bureau Report
