Video: How Mumbaikars react when mini-skirt clad woman walks on city streets alone

New Delhi: Similar to the New York girl, who walked the streets for nearly 10 hours as a social experiment, to check whether men ogle at her or not, a young team back in the country decided to come up with a video of a woman roaming in Mumbai city.
The 24 year-old woman in New York city was harassed and catcalled `108` times. She suffered a threat of rape and abuse after the video went viral.
The idea was to catch the reaction of the people around her. Following this experiment, a young girl wearing mini-skirt walked the streets of Mumbai, but what happened was not at all expected.
She walked for hours in her skimpy clothes, hopping from place-to-place but without being harassed. Not a single person teased or stalked her. Though she got stared at a couple of times but no harm befell on her way.
That was quite shocking and overwhelmingly surprising. The main aim behind the video filmed was to claim that Mumbai is comparitively a safer city for women. There were no lewd comments passed on her and nobody approached her.
The message in the end of the video was loud and clear- Female citizens are respected and treated well in this city. So, it's high time we take a leaf out of Mumbaikars' life and make the rest of the India a sexual-harassment free zone too!
