Mumbai, Oct 05: Mumbai High Court will hear an appeal by actress Manisha Koirala challenging an earlier order which dismissed her plea to delete objectionable shots in her film ‘Ek Chhoti Si Love Story’. The appeal will come up for hearing before Justices R M Lodha and Dilip Bhosale.

The court will also hear the plea of the actress and producer of the film Shashilal Nair with regard to contempt notices issued against them suo motu by the court for taking their dispute to an extra-constitutional authority. In an interim order on September 5, the court had stayed the all India release of the film until the final disposal of Manisha's appeal. The judges adjourned the matter to October 5 for final hearing.

On August 30, a single judge bench had rejected Koirala's plea to delete "objectionable" scenes in which her double had been used. She had filed a suit to challenge the final version of the film on the ground that producer Shashilal Nair had committed a breach of contract by using her double in "objectionable" scenes. Justice F I Rebello, after viewing the film, held that the impugned scenes were integral part of the film. He was of the opinion that the scenes were neither vulgar nor projected Koirala in bad light. They were also not defamatory, he felt.

Being aggrieved, the actress filed an appeal in the high court. Bureau Report
