Jammu, Dec 10: Asserting that there was no alternative to the coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir, the state Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has said that the credit for turning around the situation, initiation of a dialogue process and all-round achievements goes to all the coalition partners collectively. Addressing the ruling legislature party meeting here last evening, the chief minister said no particular party can claim credit for achievements made in different fields as "we are moving like a caravan".
Sayeed said while achievements have been by and large appreciated by the people and it is a fact that much headway has been made, but we have to go a long way to redeem our pledges made in the common minimum programme.
He referred to some irritants that come to surface and said that while every issue needs to be addressed jointly "we should not lose sight of the objective of changing the destiny of the people of the state".
"Don't forget that all of us had accepted the challenge and joined hands to restore peace in the state and take the state forward," he said and added "How anyone of us can negate the people's mandate that removed hegemony of one party and family." Bureau Report
