Buenos Aires, July 18: Chile striker Marcelo Salas has left Italy's Juventus to rejoin his former Argentine club River Plate.
''The transfer is already concluded....He is already a River player,'' River's vice-president Julio Macchi told reporters yesterday.
Salas enjoyed a successful first stint at the Argentine club, scoring 24 goals in 53 games and playing in a team which won several trophies between 1996 and 1997.
His goals with River served as a springboard for a move to Italy, where Salas played for Juventus and Lazio.
The 28-year-old striker is due to arrive in Argentina over the next few days and will report for training and a photo call on Monday, Macchi said.
Salas will partner the promising Fernando Cavenaghi in an attractive attacking line-up at River.
