Patna, Nov 14: The BJP today accused RJD supremo Laloo Prasad Yadav and Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi of "misusing" their position by allowing "unauthorised occupancy" of Bihar Niwas and Bihar Bhawan in New Delhi by their family members and demanded that the duo pay a sum of Rs five crore to compensate for the loss incurred by the state exchequer.
"Throwing norms to the wind, relatives of Laloo and Rabri have captured the VVIP suits in Bihar Niwas and Bihar Bhawan during the past three years", opposition leader in Bihar assembly, S K Modi told reporters here.
Modi alleged that their family members were also misusing government vehicles and STD facilities.
Even the expenses on the delicacies of their choice were being borne by the state government, Modi claimed.

Quoting a resolution of the state cabinet coordination department issued on March 31, 1997, Modi said Chief Minister, Ministers, MPs and MLAs were authorised for reservation in Bihar Niwas and Bihar Bhawan only when they were available at the reservation counter at the time of check-in.

No member of their family is allowed for occupancy in absence of the entitled person, Modi said.

Claiming that the state had incurred a wasteful expenditure of around Rs five crore due to the unauthorised stay of the Chief Minister's relatives, Modi demanded that the state government recover the amount from Rabri and Laloo immediately.
