Chandigarh, Nov 06: A local court today adjourned till December 1 the hearing in the case of alleged misappropriation of relief funds against Punjab Rural Development Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal during her tenure as chief minister about six years back. Additional District and Sessions Judge R S Baswana fixed the new date for arguments in the case after hearing the prosecution and defence.

A Bathinda based advocate and human rights activist Balwant Singh Dhillon had complained against Bhattal in May 2001 alleging that she misappropriated Rs 2 lakhs from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund during her brief tenure in early 1997.

Last year the case was disposed off by a Bathinda court for lack of jurisdiction before it was re-opened here.
