Vadodara, July 18: Leader of opposition in Gujarat Assembly Amarsinh Chaudhary today demanded holding of trials of post-Godhra violence in Gulmerg, Naroda Patia and similar cases outside the state. Talking to reporters here, Chaudhary, the former chief minister, said, "After the acquittal of all the 21 accused in the Best Bakery case, it seems the trials in related cases should be held outside Gujarat in the interest of justice." He questioned as to why Gujarat government did not go in for an appeal after the verdict of Best Bakery case. On the reported contention of VHP leader Praveen Togadia that Muslims in the country preferred a separate judicial system, he said it was not so. Bureau Report
