Vadodra, Aug 15: The drought relief works undertaken in 6,111 villages across Gujarat have been stopped following 100 per cent rainfall, state Revenue Minister Kaushik Patel said here today. "With 100 per cent rainfall, we have stopped all relief works even as the state has prepared Rs 895 crore master plan to fight drought conditions," Patel said after the Independence Day function here. During the drought, a total payment of Rs 211.09 crore was made to labourers working on various relief sites, he said, adding during drought condition, 1.37 lakh metric tonnes of food grains, including, 12.28 crore kg fodder, was also distributed.
