Raipur, Oct 13: Chhattisgarh chief minister Ajit Jogi today said the people of Jammu and Kashmir have given a befitting reply to the people and political leaders who had questioned the origin of AICC president Sonia Gandhi. "The intelligent electrorate of Kashmir have severely jolted the diabolic designs of mischief mongers and the wishful day-dreams of political sadists who find it difficult to gracefully accept the great measure of credibility and achievements notched up by Congress under Gandhi's leadership," he said in a statement here.
The electorate demonstrated their faith in Gandhi and replied to those "who expressed their frustration by stooping low to attack her personality," he said.
By expressing their faith and confidence in Congress and its allies, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have accepted, as always the legacy of the Gandhi-Nehru lineage, Jogi said.
Once again, the power of Indian democracy has demolished fascism through an outright rejection of that ideology in Jammu and Kashmir and the people there have imparted a telling lesson to those who direct a campaign of vilification personally directed at Gandhi, the chief minister said.
Jogi also congratulated the people of Jammu and Kashmir and said the free, fair and transparent electoral process in the state has further added to India's standing among democracies. Bureau Report
