Karimnagar, June 08: The DNA test result in a baby swapping case has proved that the complaint about baby swapping lodged by a local couple against a private hospital at Godavarikhani in the district was false, police said here today.
The test result received yesterday stated that J Rajeshwari and her husband Rajaiah are in fact the biological parents of the disowned female baby, police said.
"A case has been booked against the couple for lodging a false complaint," Godavarikhani-I town circle Inspector Surender Reddy said.
J Rajeshwari and her husband Rajaiah had lodged a complaint with Godavarikhani police that their baby boy was swapped for a girl child on May 10. Following the complaint the police had sent their blood samples for DNA test to ascertain the fact.
"We have handed over the 28-day-old girl to her parents after receipt of the DNA report," Reddy added. Bureau Report
