CBI team in Lucknow to probe financial assets in Taj case
Lucknow, Sept 11: Ordered by the Supreme Court to go after the trail of Rs 17 crore sanctioned for controversial Taj heritage corridor project, the CBI special team investigating the case reached here today to initiate probe into the financial assets of those allegedly involved in it.

CBI sources told a news agency here that agency sleuths had already gathered information about the financial assets of the five persons allegedly involved in the case.
The investigating agency, which had started investigating the matter on the order of the Supreme Court, submitted its report to the court today after which it was directed to probe the financial assets those allegedly involved. The apex court has given a week's time to the CBI to complete its probe.
CBI has questioned at least 20 people in the high-profile Rs 175 project, including former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, former Chief Secretary D S Bagga, former Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Panna Lal Punia, Finance Secretary N C Vajpayee, Principal Secretary Satish Agarwal and suspended IAS officer R K Sharma.
