Iran asks Pakistan to stop infiltration by al-Qaeda
Tehran, May 31: A senior Iranian security official asked Pakistan`s visiting foreign minister today to ensure no members of Osama bin Laden`s al-Qaeda terror network infiltrate the Islamic republic from its eastern neighbbour.

Hassan Rohani, secretary of the supreme National Security
Council "asked the Pakistani government to take serious
measures to stop al-Qaeda members from crossing the Iranian
border," the official IRNA news agency reported.
He made the comments during talks with Pakistani Foreign Minister khurshid mahmood kasuri.
Washington has recently stepped up pressure on Iran, accusing it of hosting members of al Qaeda. It has also suggested that al-Qaeda members in Iran were involved in May 12 bomb attacks in Riyadh that killed 34 people.
Tehran has vigorously denied the charges.
