Lucknow, June 23: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today suspended seven officials in four districts, including the District Magistrate of Bijnore, and transferred Rampur DM for their "laxity" in carrying out developmental works in the Ambedkar villages. The chief minister, carrying out surprise inspections in Ambedkar villages spread in four districts of Bijnore, Rampur, Jyotibaphule Nagar and Moradabad, found that "the development works were not upto the mark", a government statement said here.

Mayawati ordered immediate suspension of district panchayat officers in bijnore, Moradabad and Rampur and Chief Development Officer Sahdev Sharma in Jyotibaphule Nagar after inspection of development works in Ambedkar villages there. The Chief Minister suspended district magistrate of Bijnore SPs Solanki and transferred Rampur DM Ram Mohan Rao after ordering adverse entry for Rao, the statement said.

Among those suspended are PWD engineer in Bijnore and basic Shiksha Adhikari in Rampur, it said. Bureau Report
