Mulayam orders use of Hindi
Lucknow, Sept 14: On Hindi Diwas today, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav ordered that use of English in government jobs should stop immediately and Hindi should be used in its place.

" Use of English in government jobs should end and to
ensure honour to our national language Hindi should be used,"
a government press release quoting Yadav said.
" Hindi is our national language and other languages are its sisters," he said adding that Swadesi language should be adopted to check influence of English.
The Chief Minister also ordered that names of officials and ministers should now be displayed in Hindi and Urdu.
This order should be implemented by September 16, he told officials concerned.
The number plates of his vehicles will also be written in Hindi numerals.
Yadav said that during his earlier two tenures he had taken the initiative to promote Hindi in government functioning.
" I am not against English, but as Hindi is our national language it should get its due place," Yadav said. Bureau Report
