Patna, Sept 08: With the Ranvir Sena chief Brahmeshwar Singh falling into the Bihar police net, the outlawed militia of private landlords, responsible for killing over 500 people in massacres, has appointed Shamsher Bahadur Singh in his place. Shamsher Bahadur Singh was unanimously elected to head the Sena at a secret meeting of the organisation here attended by senior members from Bihar and adjoining states of Jharkhandand Uttar Pradesh, according to a press release issued by the new Sena spokesman Sahastranshu last night.

Like his predecessor, the new Sena chief hails from Bihar`s Bhojpur district and was the spokesman of the organisation since its inception in 1994.
He was also the chief of the protection committee of the banned outfit that perpetrated large scale violence, mostly against dalits, in the districts of Jehanbad, Gaya, Aurangabad, Bhojpur and Patna rural, better known as flaming fields of Bihar.
The new chief, after taking over, sent a strong warning to the CPI-ML (Liberation), People`s War (PW), Maoist Communist Centre (MCC) and other ultra left outfits to stop castigating the arrested Sena chieftain or be ready to face the might of the outfit. Bureau Report
