Lucknow, Nov 19: A CBI court today extended the judicial remand of Rohit Chaturvedi, one of the accused in the poetess Madhumita Shukla murder case, till November 21.
Chaturvedi was produced before the special judicial magistrate (CBI) R.M.Yadav on expiry of his judicial remand who sent him back to Barabanki jail.
A cousin of another accused in the case former minister Amar Mani Tripathi, Chaturvedi filed an application before the court alleging that CBI had violated the terms imposed by the court while remanding him to judicial custody earlier.
He alleged that the agency did not disclose his whereabouts to the two counsels as directed by the court and had also assaulted him.
Meanwhile, the bail application of SHO Y N Dixit, suspended in connection with the probe into the case, would come up for hearing in the CBI court on November 21. The CBI's petition challenging the lower court's order allowing Tripathi to attend the ongoing session of the state assembly would also come up for hearing in the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court tomorrow.
