Dhaka, Dec 12: The deadly bomb blasts in four cinema halls at Mymensingh town in Bangladesh which killed 19 people and injured more than 200, has been claimed by a group who identified themselves as "Students of Madrasa", a report said today.
"We, some students of Madrasa, are responsible or the bomb attack on cinema halls," the group said in an e-mail to the vernacular 'Prothom Alo' newspaper.
The group claimed to have recieved one Lakh Taka each for carrying out the blasts at cinema halls, from an unnamed Islamic Student's Organisation.
Meanwhile the law enforcement agencies of the country said they were clueless about the perpetrators of the serial blasts even as a one-member judicial committee headed by a retired justice began probe into the incident yesterday.
Prime Minister Khaleda Zia said the attack was a "planned act to discredit her government" and alleged the involvement of the opposition Awami League Party.


The death toll in the incident rose to 19, with jewel (22), an employee of a biscuit factory in Mymensingh town succumbing to injuries yesterday. The injured, many of them seriously, are being treated in various hospitals at Mymensingh and Dhaka.
