Raipur, June 06: Chhattisgarh police today claimed they had secured some vital clues and "were very close in nabbing the assailants who shot dead NCP's state unit treasurer Ram Avtar Jaggi". As per instructions of Chief Minister Ajit Jogi a special investigating team had been formed and was currently interrogating some people in the case, inspector-general of Raipur police, Ram Niwas, said.

Over two dozen people are being interrogated by police teams, he said adding the assailants would be arrested very soon.

Jaggi was shot dead near the Mohdapara police station in the heart of the city late Wednesday night when he was returning home after attending a party meeting presided over by its state president V C Shukla.
