Agra, Oct 15: Situation in the curfew-bound Mantola and Rakabganj localities of the city was tense but under control today with no fresh incidents of violence reported from anywhere, senior officials said today. District Magistrate Nitesh Kumar and Senior Police Superintendent Ashutosh Pandey told reporters that stricter enforcement of prohibitory orders had been ordered in Jagdshpura Bodla and Gopalpura where sporadic incidents of rioting and arson had been reported yesterday. They said except for the setting on fire of a tempo in Ramnagar Pulia in which 24 people were arrested, the city was peaceful today. They said four more companies of PAC and one of CRPF had been called for to augment the police force already deployed in the city.
Tension had erupted in Jagdishpura and Gopalpura localities on Monday where mobs blocked roads the death of a person who was beaten up during the communal clashes in Dholikhar locality.
