Four Maoists were killed and dozens others injured
today in operations by security forces, an official at the
army headquarters said here.
While one Maoist was killed and dozens others injured in a retaliatory operation launched by security forces in Majhaura area of Kailali district, the dead body of another was recovered after the operation, the official said.
Other Maoists killed or wounded might have been carried away by their comrades, he said.
One rebel each was killed in Panchthar, Dolakha and Baitadi districts during skirmishes with the security forces, he added.
Four rebels were killed in an encounter with security forces in the jungles of Bhotang and Manekharkha and three Maoists were killed yesterday in an encounter at Nepaltar of Udayapur district, media reports said today.
