Moscow, Aug 15: The Indo-Russian strategic partnership reflects the "maturity" in bilateral ties between the two countries, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in messages to the Indian leadership on the Independence day.
Putin, in his message to President A P J Abdul Kalam, expressed satisfaction over the "continuously advancing multi-faceted ties and interaction between India and Russia," the press office said today.
He expressed confidence that their strategic partnership will further strengthen to the benefit of the citizens of the two countries and the global peace and security.
In a separate message to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Putin said the strategic partnership of Russia and India reflects the "high level of maturity of dynamically developing multi-faceted bilateral ties."
The partnership was an important stabilising factor in the international relations, he added.

Meanwhile, the Moscow-based Indian community celebrated the 57th Independence day with great enthusiasm.

The students of Kendriya Vidyalaya Moscow sang patriotic songs after the text of President Kalam's address to the Nation was read out.

Flag hoisting ceremonies were also held in the Indian Consulates in St Petersburg, Vladivostok and capitals of the commonwealth of independent states, including Tashkent, Dushanbe, Kiev and Minsk.
