Bharatpur, Apr 03: Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, in his second leg of his Bharat Uday Yatra, today reached Rajasthan and exhorted people to vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Holding the Congress party responsible for prevailing problems, Advani said, “Congress has ruled for about 45 years but failed to contribute to the overall development of the country.” However in just six years the country under the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee has moved on the path of development, he added.

Raising the foreign origin issue one again, Advani reiterated that it is a political issue. He mentioned the example of Henry Kissinger, who although remained advisor of several US Presidents, could not contest the presidential election, as originally he does not belong to that country. “It’s a policy decision, therefore we cannot leave this matter,” he said.
Advani said that no person should refrain from voting if they wanted Atalji to become the Prime Minister for the third time.

Mentioning “good administration”, “development” and “able leadership” as strong points of the BJP-led NDA government, he said these were required for the overall progress of the country.

“Atalji has a vision to have web of roads to connect every village by 2010, to make India stand in the front row of developed countries,” he said, while urging people to give the BJP-led government another term to fulfill this agenda.
Advani lauded his government for infusing back life into the river inter-linking project that was originally proposed by K.N. Rao, minister in the Nehru cabinet. He said the project once complete would end the country’s drought and drinking water once and for all.

Earlier, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje also addressed the gathering.
