Lucknow, Feb 05: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today termed as "baseless" the allegation levelled by jailed independent MLA that she was conspiring to kill him and said the charge was reflective of his frustration after "tightening of noose around him". "Everybody knows about the criminal history of Raja Bhaiya and recovery of foreign made firearms and explosives have proved that he was a notorious criminal", she said in a statement.
Recovery of a skeleton from a pond owned by the legislator also coroborates this, she said.
"The charge levelled by Raja Bhaiya is borne out of frustration after tightening of noose around him", Mayawati said.
The killing of Rajendra Yadav, a key witness in a Pota case against the MLA proved that Raja Bhaiya wanted to liquidate the witnesses, she alleged.
The chief minister also termed as "a symbol of frustration" the statement of Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav that she was conspiring to kill the independent MLA.
"Yadav himself is surrounded by criminals and hence knows and speaks their language", she alleged.
Raja Bhaiya moved a court here today alleging Mayawati was conspiring to kill him. He alleged she had given a contract to a mafia don to eliminate him. Bureau Report
