Mobike-cum-mountaineering team kicks off expedition
Chandigarh, July 05: A 12-member mobike-cum-mountaineering expedition to scale Mount Stok Kangri and Gulap Kangri was flagged of by Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala from here yesterday.
Chandigarh, July 05: A 12-member mobike-cum-mountaineering expedition to scale Mount Stok Kangri and Gulap Kangri was flagged of by Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala from here yesterday.
The team is being led by Rakesh Kumar, president of youth adventure and mountaineering association, Haryana.
The expenditon will reach Manali on July 5, Koksar on July 6, Panng and Leh on July 7. The team will reach Khardungla, the world's highest motorable pass by July 10.
The team will set out for their mountaineering expedition to Stok Kangri peak on July 11. They will set up four camps with their base at Mancarmo before scaling 6153 metre high Stok Kangri and 5900 metre high Gulap Kangri. During this expedititon, they will cross Rohtang Pass, Baralachala, Lachalangla, Tanglangala and Khardungla.
The expedition has been approved by Indian mountaineering foundation, New Delhi and jointly sponsored by union ministry of human resource development, department of youth affairs and sports and Indian Oil Corporation.
The members of the team included Ajmer Singh, Neeraj Chaudhary, Prashant Mudgil, Narender Singh, all from Haryana, Rajinder Singh (Punjab), Sanjiv Tandon (Chandigarh), Gaurav Sharma, Rajni Sharma, Vijay Rajotia, Amit Noval (all from Rajasthan) and Gobind Singh of Uttranchal. The team will start its back journey on July 31 and reach Chandigarh on August 2.
