Jalandhar, July 11: President of Lok Janashakti Party and MP Ram Vilas Paswan was rounded up by the local police today alongwith his supporters on charges of violation of prohibotory orders in Talhan village, the scene of caste clashes recently. Paswan, who was here today for the ‘dalit chetna cycle rally’ from Talhan village to Parliament House' along with his supporters, was on way to the village when he was stopped by police and taken into custody. Earlier, at a press conference here Paswan held the district administration and state government responsible for the recent caste clashes in Talhan village. He said the dalit chetna rally was being organized to protest the increase in cases if atrocities against dalits in the state and country and added that that he would take up the issue of release of persons lodged in jail for their alleged involvement in Talhan clashes.
