Srinagar, Sept 15: Hurriyat Conference leaders Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Bilal Gani Lone were put under house arrest today as Jammu and Kashmir officials feared law and order problem at Hurriyat headquarters at Raj Bagh here, police said.
Police informed the two warring leaders about the prohibitory orders on their movements at 7.00 am.
Geelani faction of the amalgam called a meeting at Muslim League headquarters while Ansari group has convened a meeting at Hurriyat office today. Both leaders have been put under house arrest amid fears that their supporters might clash, police added.
