Bangalore, Oct 20: The public-sector Syndicate Bank today launched its global credit card in association with Visa International, and said it was targeting a card base of five lakh in the next two years. Global card would be acceptable at over three crore merchant establishments and at over 8.5 lakh ATMs across the globe displaying Visa logo, a bank press release said here.

Syndicate Bank outsourced many processes to reduce cycle time in issue of cards, Michael Bastian, the CMD, was quoted as saying. The bank would focus on marketing and credit approval process.

He said that all housing loan customers would be given credit card without entry fee and separate approval process.

The bank, which has a total of 1,745 branches, was also in the process of identifying certain customer segments, who would be given credit cards on fast track basis.
