New Delhi, Feb 05: Congress today accused BJP and Sangh Privar of raking up the Ayodhya issue whenever elections are around and asserted that party would not allow them to succeed in their "design to divide" people to get political mileage out of it. Talking to reporters, party spokesman Satyabrata Chaturvedi said BJP has once again followed its tradition of raking up the Ayodhya issue when four states are going to assembly polls later this month. Pointing out that BJP tried to do the same before Uttar Pradesh assembly elections but lost the polls miserably, he stated that UP will be repeated in Himachal Pradesh where polls scheduled for February 26. He said that statements of BJP and Sangh Parivar leaders made it clear that neither were they interested in solving the issue through mutual dialogue nor were they ready to respect the verdict of Indian judiciary. He also asked BSP-led Mayawati Government in UP to fulfil its constitutional responsibility of maintaining status quo on the site and nothing should be done which disturbs existing social atmosphere.
