Bhopal, July 15: Preparations for "Simhastha-2004" are in full swing and as many as 416 works costing about rs 20 crore have been sanctioned so far under the action plan for the religious congregation.
Of 295 works of permanent nature, about 180 have been completed and the remaining are to be completed by December this year. The different departments have spent about Rs 100 crore on Simhastha related construction works, an official release said here today. An action plan is being executed to improve arrangements at Mahakal temple and to provide better facilities to visitors in the temple premises.
Plans are also on to check vehicles in satellite towns during the fair to avoid inconvenience to pilgrims and local residents due to vehicular traffic in the city, it said.
Directives have been issued to complete the Simhastha related construction works within scheduled period. All the ghats of Kshipra river are being renovated and beautified.

All concerned district collectors have been instructed to take action to ban pumping of water from the source of Kshipra river to Ujjain, Indore and Dewas. The old stop-dam is also being renovated.
