New Delhi, Sept 12: Taking serious note of stamp paper racket busted in Maharashtra recently, BJP today demanded a CBI probe, saying not only the mafia but also
politicians belonging to various parties were involved in the multi-crore rupees scam.
Demanding the probe, BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu alleged that Karnataka Pradesh Congress Minorities Morcha vice president, whose brother Abdul Kader Telgi is the kingpin and under arrest in Maharashtra, is involved in the scandal.
"We take serious note of a nationwide forged judicial stamp paper racket of thousands of crores of rupees spread over many states involving important persons, including legislators and ministers," Naidu said.
He wondered why Maharasthra government has not slapped Pota against Telgi. Naidu said the case had wider ramifications. "The end result of this multi-state scam will be very alarming in view of the allegations made by Karnataka DIG Jaiswal who had recommended serious action against some senior police officials."
