Vigilance bureau raids Badal`s ancestral house
Chandigarh, July 25: Maintaining pressure on former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, Punjab Vigilance Bureau sleuths today raided his ancestral house in Badal village of Muktsar district in connection with a disproportionate assets case registered against him.
Chandigarh, July 25: Maintaining pressure on former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, Punjab Vigilance Bureau sleuths today raided his ancestral house in Badal village of Muktsar district in connection with a disproportionate assets case registered against him.
SP (Vigilance) Sukhwinder Pal Singh said that the raid was conducted by a team of 25 members of the bureau, including the evaluators, to assess the value of properties owned by Badal, the Shiromani Akali Dal chief, and his family.
This was the second raid conducted by the vigilance sleuths on Badal`s ancestral house within last two months.
The SP said experts had been hired to assess the value of Badal`s properties.
He said the job of the bureau in any disproportionate assets case was to collect details of moveable and immovable properties and make their assessment to bring it on record.
The VB team, which was headed by SP Amarjeet Singh, was also accompanied by commandos of the Punjab Police.
