New Delhi, Aug 29: Congress Working Committee which has left the decision on the key issue of whether or not to join Mulayam Singh Yadav-led government in Uttar Pradesh to party president Sonia Gandhi.
Gandhi would take a final view in the matter after discussions with senior party leaders and Yadav, party spokesman S Jaipal Reddy told reporters after the meeting.
This was because the political situation in Uttar Pradesh was "still evolving," Reddy said.
Congress has 16 MLAs in up most of whom favour joining the government.
Asked whether there is any timeframe for Congress to take a decision on the issue, he replied in the negative.
To a question, Reddy said all options are open. He sidestepped a question whether the presence of Rashtriya Kranti Party leader and former UP Chief Minister Kalyan Singh was inhibiting Congress from joining the government.
