Kodaikanal, Oct 26: Black spots measuring about 8000 miles in diameter have been noticed on the surface of Sun, a Scientist of the Astro Research Centre said here today A report quoting Scientist P. S. M. Alim said that 200 to 250 black spots were noticed on the surface of the Sun and they had been formed due to magentic storm which occurred last week.
The occurence of black spots was earlier considered auspicious as they were thought to bring better rains, good crops, economic upturn, among other things, he said. The research on Sun's black spots and other cosmic secrets had been going on in the Centre for a long time, he said. Bureau Report
