New Delhi, May 04: The curtains on the most fashionable event of the country, the Lakme India Fashion Week 2004, went down in a very `fruity` manner but there was little unique on the ramp as was promised by the three Lakme designers Aki Narula, Anshu Arora Sen and Anamika Khanna. It was definitely a riot of colours on the ramp with lot of graphics in the backdrop, but the cuts and styles of the clothes presented did not have much new to offer.
The Lakme grand finale was supposed to be packed with `energy`, `vibrancy` and `colour`, according to the three designers who also said that the concluding show of the fashion week would be "different".
They played around with the fashion statement of Lakme, the main sponsor of the event, `fruit shock`, with shades of bright pinks popping around, strawberry crush and bursting purple but most of the audience was left looking for the something `different` as promised.
The final show was expected to be markedly different from what it had been in the last four years.
While Indrani Dasgupta was on the ramp throughout the week, it was the other two Lakme faces - Yana Gupta and Katrina Kaif - who were seen on the ramp for the concluding special show last night.
