Jammu, Dec 03: Security forces shot dead three Hizbul Mujahideen militants in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir last night, official sources said here today. On specific information about the presence of militants, the forces launched a joint operation in Beholi village 8-kms away from Doda town in Jammu division and in a subsequent gun battle killed three Hizbul ultras.

Some arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants, the sources said adding however, details of the identity of the militants and recoveries made from them were awaited.

Security forces also busted a militant hideout in Mendhar area of Rajouri district and recovered 79 AK ammunition rounds and some explosives. The hideout was later smashed by the troops.

Meanhile, one Parkash Singh was seriously injured in a mine blast when he was moving in his field at Bobian village in Hiranagar Tehsil of Kathua district yesterday.

He was initially rushed to sub-district hospital at Hirangar from where he was referred to the Government Medical College Hospital here, the sources said. Bureau Report
