New Delhi, Apr 01: India-born space scientist Kalpana Chawla, who died in Columbia accident, did not like publicity vis-a-vis her achievements, her French husband today disclosed saying space accidents do, to some extent, discourage parents and children from choosing space as a career. "Kalpana was very cheerful and energetic" but never wanted publicity, Jean Piere Harrison said interacting with school children here. After her first space visit in 1987 she had written to her parents not to publicise the same, Harrison said. On the space mishaps, he said "accidents of space vehicles do to some extent discourage students and their parents who wish to make career in astronomy". Kalpana was not "choosy" about food and could cook a variety of Indian foods, he said.

When asked whether he faced any difficulty with the amount of spices in Indian food, Harrison said "We have more spices in our food as compared to Indian food". He also had a liking for "Bengali sweets" he said.
