Bleach given hearing in assault case
Kolkata, July 23: British national Peter Bleach, serving a life sentence in the Purulia armsdrop case, today told a city court that the case of alleged assault of a fellow prisoner against him were concocted.

Appearing before Metropolitan Magistrate Swadesh Ranjan
Roy, Bleach, who is pleading his own case, said the medical
reports submitted in the case did not match the charges framed
by the police and therefore the court should not proceed on
it.
He noted that the fir was lodged by the police and not
the alleged victim.
The judge fixed the next date of hearing on July 25 to hear public prosecutor K C Das, who requested the court to allow him to furnish evidence.
The city police had filed a case against bleach on the basis of a complaint by the presidency jail authorities that he had allegedly assaulted a fellow prisoner, Kamal Raut, inside the premises on April five. Bureau Report
