New Delhi, Dec 17: Voicing serious concern over the release of Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Masood Azhar in Pakistan, Shiv Sena members in the Lok Sabha today said cassettes of the terrorist were being distributed in Maharashtra villages aimed at inflaming communal passions. Raising the issue during the zero hour, Chandrakant Khaire (Shiv Sena) produced a video cassette disc in the House claiming that it contained a call by Azhar to Muslims to take to arms and launch a 'jehad' (holy war) against the government.
Speaker Manohar Joshi said he would go through the cassette.
Congress chief whip P R Dasmunsi demanded that government should vigorously pursue getting back 20 terrorists, who have taken refuge in Pakistan, for trial in India.
He warned the government not to fall in Pakistan's "trap to divide India on communal lines".
CPI (M) leader Somnath Chatterjee urged members to exercise caution saying nothing should be stated which could create public unrest.
Urban Development Minister Ananth Kumar said he would draw the attention of Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani to the concern expressed by agitated members. Bureau Report
