NIIT, M&M scrips to be dropped from Sensex
Computer education and software services firm NIIT and tractor and utility maker Mahindra & Mahindra will be dropped out of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) 30-share index from January 7, 2002.

In a notice to members, the exchange said its index committee had decided to include infotech firm HCL Technologies and motor-cycle major Hero Honda in the benchmark exchange index instead.
It gave no reason for the changes.
The notice also said state-run gas marketing firm Gas Authority of India will replace consumer electronics maker BPL Ltd in the BSE-100 index. Bureau Report
