Mobile phones banned around polling booths
Jodhpur, Nov 08: District authorities here have banned the use of mobile phones within an area of 100 metres of a polling booth during the forthcoming assembly elections.

banned the use of mobile phones within an area of 100 metres
of a polling booth during the forthcoming assembly elections.
However, the ban would not apply to administrative
officials and those on election-related duties, district
electoral officer Rajat Kumar Mishra said here today.
The district administration has earmarked 80 spots where candidates would be allowed to put up their campiagn materials like posters and hoardings, by giving charges to local civic bodies, he said.
The candidates would also be required to submit a list of vehicles they would be using for battle campaign. Any unlisted vehicles found to be used in battle campaign would be forfeited, he said. Candidates would also have to submit an affidavit about his personal movable and non-movable properties while submitting his nomination form, he added.
