Courtney Love charged with drug possession in L.A
Los Angeles, Oct 29: Rocker Courtney Love surrendered to Beverly Hills police on Tuesday to face drug possession charges stemming from her arrest earlier this month after breaking windows at a boyfriend`s house.
Prosecutors said Love, who also lost custody of her 11-year-old daughter Frances Bean Cobain following her arrest, was expected to appear in court for an arraignment on the charges later on Tuesday.
A spokeswoman for Love could not immediately be reached for comment.
It was not immediately clear if she would face jail time if convicted and Sandi Gibbons, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office, said the singer could be eligible for a drug diversion program that would spare her going behind bars.
Love was taken into custody by Los Angeles police on Oct. 3 after she was caught breaking windows while standing outside a boyfriend's home in the middle of the night.
Hours later, after she was freed on $2,500 bail, she was found by police in Beverly Hills in a condition that warranted her being rushed to a local hospital for treatment of an unexplained "medical emergency."
Love, who is also an actress, won a Golden Globe award for her role in the 1996 film "The People vs. Larry Flynt."
