Dehra Dun, Nov 02: Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (K), a regional party in Uttaranchal, would contest at least 20 seats in the coming Delhi Assembly elections. "Out of the 70 seats in Delhi, we have decided to field our candidates on 20 seats where people of Uttaranchal-origin hold key to the election," the party president Kashi Singh Airy told reporters.

Stating that nearly 25 to 30 lakh people from Uttaranchal reside in Delhi, Airy said the list of the party candidates would be finalized by November 5. The decision to contest elections in Delhi came after UKD-K's Delhi unit recommended to the party central committee to fight the election.

However, Aairy said his party was ready to join forces in the third front against Congress and BJP in case any such move takes shape in the new few days. Airy said his party was in contact with left parties and others in this regard. Bureau Report
