Chandigarh, Sept 09: A local court today fixed October seven as the next date of hearing in the case of alleged breach of contract by model-turned-actress Katrina Kaif for performing at a National Institute of Fashion Design (NIFD) fashion show at Nagpur later this month. Civil judge Sanjay Sandhir fixed the next date in the case after hearing arguments from the counsels of NIFD and Kaif.

Kaif, who has hired a local lawyer, sought more time to file her reply in the case.

The city-based NIFD had recently filed a civil suit against the Bollywood actress for alleged breach of contract and had also moved the local court for registration of a case for alleged criminal breach of trust and cheating. The court had asked police to submit a report by September 17.

The spat between the NIFD and Katrina reached a flashpoint after the actress served a legal notice on the NIFD demanding an unconditional apology for the damage done to her image.

The NIFD had alleged that Katrina had committed to participate in the fashion show at Nagpur for which a demand draft of Rs 35,000 was sent to her along with air tickets. Bureau Report
