New Delhi, June 29: Even as the onset of monsoon over the capital was delayed, pre-monsoon showers this evening brought the much-needed respite to Delhiites from the sweltering heat. Weather department clarified that these showers were not due to monsoon which usually sets over Delhi on June 29. "The pre-monsoon showers brought down the mercury by 3.2 degree Celsius in Delhi", Dr S R Kalsi of IMD said. He attributed the showers to a disturbance over Pakistan which drifted south-eastwards. "There is no easterly current and no sign of monsoon trough. This current has come from the north-west side", Kalsi said. Bureau Report
