Riyadh, Nov 12: Saudi Arabia will talk to
Islamist militants fighting to overthrow the regime with guns
or swords, but there will be no dialogue, Interior Minister
Nayef bin Abdul Aziz vowed today.
"We can talk to them only with the gun and the sword,"
he told the official Saudi press agency.
A group of Saudi clerics this week offered to mediate with the militants after a suicide bomb killed 17 people in the capital on Saturday.
Prince Nayef denied a press report that several people had been arrested over the blast that also wounded 122 at housing compound.
"No one has been arrested up to now," Nayef said.
But the security forces "will continue the hunt for these criminals to arrest them and bring them to justice," he added.
"The security forces have already eliminated many terrorists, arrested others and seized last stocks of weapons that these criminals used to threaten the security of the country and its citizens," the Prince said.
