Jamshedpur, Mar 28: CPI(ML) said on Sunday it would contest eight seats in Jharkhand. Releasing its election manifesto at a press conference in Jamshedpur on Sunday, Jharkhand state secretary of the party Subendu Sen told newsmen that the party would contest Dumka, Dhanbad, Koderma, Giridih, Hazaribagh, Ranchi, Chatra and Palamu seats in the state. The candidates would be Surun Soren (Dumka), Swapan Mukherjee (Dhanbad), Raj Kumar Yadav (Koderma), Ibnul Hassan Wasru (Giridih), Hira Gope (Hazaribagh), Kudhiram Munda (Ranchi), Birju Ram (Chatra) and Rabindra Ram (Palamu), he said.

Ponting out that the CPI(ML) would contest the poll on its own, he said the party has put up an all out effort to win the Koderma seat, where the party has good support.
Sen claimed that the votes in favour of the party will grow in this poll in comparison to the last election, when the party had contested from five seats in Jharkhand.

The party also promised to restore tribal lands and preserve the Chhotanagpur and Santhal Paragana tenancy act, if voted to power in Jharkhand. Bureau Report
