Mumbai, Sept 14: Fiat India Private Ltd has reduced prices of some of its fast-moving spare parts by an average of 12 per cent and that of certain imported parts by an average of 53 per cent. "The reduction, which is the second time after the launch of Palio two years ago, is under our efforts to improve after sales service and to give an impetus to the new Palio NV," Fiat India director (commercial) Ananda Mohan Gupta said here today.
A new service policy, that completes the three free services during the first year of ownership, and the price reduction are the two important areas fiat is focusing on to provide an impetus to Palio NV, he said. The prices of 27 imported parts of Palio, Siena and Uno were reduced through the company's localisation programme, which was affected after March 31, 2003, he added.
The fuel efficiency of new Palio, cheaper spare parts and the new service policy would make the overall cost of ownership attractive to Indian car buyer, Gupta claimed. The new service policy would facilitate customers visit to our workshops at least three times in the first year and would help us build a closer relationship with them, he added. Bureau Report
