Lucknow, July 07: A day after the All India Muslim Personal Law Board rejected the Kanchi Seer's formula to resolve the Ayodhya tangle, the VHP held a closed-door meeting of senior functionaries here today and convened another meeting on July 11 to discuss the reply to Muslim community. The international president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Ashok Singhal today held a closed-door meeting with senior VHP functionaries before heading for Ayodhya where he is expected to meet sants tonight to chalk out a strategy for construction of the Ram Temple there, Purshottam Narain Singh, VHP in-charge of Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, told news agencies.

Singhal, who made unscheduled visit to the state capital this morning, held a closed - door meeting with senior VHP functionaries, he said.

Singhal's visit assumes more importance as senior Muslim leader Syed Shahabuddin yesterday visited Faizabad and Ayodhya and held confabulations with local Muslim leaders there.
Singhal who called on the ailing Ram Janmbhoomi Nyas president, Mahant Ramchandra Das Paramhans at the SGPGI, said that the religious head had told him that there would be no (no) compromise on the site of the temple and it would be built at the same place.

He said that VHP had convened a meeting of the Sri Ram Janmbhoomi Andolan Mandir Nirman Uchaidhikar Samiti would be held in New Delhi on July 11 to decide as to what reply should be given to the Muslim community after the AIMPLB rejected the Kanchi Seer's proposal.
Singhal told reporters "we are not unhappy with the Seer for sending a proposal for resolving the tangle to the All India Muslim Personal Law Board but it would have been better had he taken the VHP and other Hindu leaders into confidence over the issue."
